{Macro Monday} – Geometric shapes

Today’s Macro Monday theme was set as geometric shapes, as I had already taken a few recently for Picture Perfect Practice I found it more difficult finding something new to post.

We have been pretty hectic over the last couple of weeks with redecorating, hence I have not been around that much, I should be back to normal fairly soon and look forward to settling down with a nice glass and catching up with all my favourite blogs 🙂

{Macro Monday} – the Metal eDition

This Monday the challenge was set, but my creativity failed me, the shot I took was the metal measuring spoons, the others are all ones I have taken that would have also fit the theme nicely. As I do not like to repeat shots for the challenges, if I can help it, I decided to shoot something new. Long days at work whilst my kids were at Easter camp meant that my options were a little on the limited side 😮

{Macro Monday} – the Fools eDition

It’s macro time again and this time I thought I would share this fantastic fruit I found called Rainbow Fruit, each mouthful tastes different, I can highly recommend it 🙂

The theme today for Macro Monday was “I Fooled You!”, loved doing this for April Fool’s Day, such fun.

On a personal note I would like to wish Happy Birthday to my Great Auntie Betty, 96 years young today!

Rainy day fun :-)

We have a lot of rain over here in England, but rainy days don’t have to get you down; yes, I love being outside walking or playing with the children on my days off more than anything. I do though try to make the most of it in this weather no matter what. Photos have so much more atmosphere to them (for me anyway) when there are clouds in the sky, especially dark and brooding ones, which make fantastic black and white captures.

When the rain starts, I do some indoor photography. I like capturing the rain drops on our windows, making the outside street a blurry wet smudge of colour and taking photos of my kids as we enjoy some quiet (or not so quiet) time together.

Then when the rain has stopped and the outside is wet there are so many opportunities, reflections in rain puddles, refractions in water droplets, bokeh droplets, the list is endless.

Below I have included just a few of the shots that never would have been if it had not been for a downpour of rain.

My perfect rainy day activity when my kids are quietly playing together and I have some precious “ME” time is being curled up with a good book and a lovely warm cup of tea/ coffee or hot chocolate (depending on the time of day!)in my hand……..BLISS.

What is your perfect rainy day activity?

I find eyes fascinating, especially when seen close up, the colours and details are just fantastic. I LOVE that you can read so much in the eyes. I’ve seen anger, sadness, happiness, surprise, tenderness but what I love most of all is the look of love. You just can’t beat that!! 🙂
