{Macro Monday} – the Metal eDition

This Monday the challenge was set, but my creativity failed me, the shot I took was the metal measuring spoons, the others are all ones I have taken that would have also fit the theme nicely. As I do not like to repeat shots for the challenges, if I can help it, I decided to shoot something new. Long days at work whilst my kids were at Easter camp meant that my options were a little on the limited side 😮

To a point

I am still working my way (slowly I might add!) through the exercises in the book Picture Perfect Practice by  Roberto Valenzuela. A few Wednesdays ago now I posted my Square shots, then rectangles and circles, yesterday it was the turn of triangles, which makes today converging lines.

Windows to the soul

Window to the soul

I find eyes fascinating, especially when seen close up, the colours and details are just fantastic. I LOVE that you can read so much in the eyes. I’ve seen anger, sadness, happiness, surprise, tenderness but what I love most of all is the look of love. You just can’t beat that!! 🙂

Chief Scout Bronze Award

The highest award that a Beaver Scout can get is the chief Scout Bronze award and on Wednesday evening my son was awarded his and they had a special visitor at the meeting to present it to him.

Chief Scout's Bronze Award

To achieve this he has worked really hard over the last year or so and gained the six challenge badges needed to get the award; creative, fitness, friendship, global, outdoor and promise. If you are interested this then please check out this link.

Girls are best

The Oh seat!

It was National Book week yesterday (7th March 2013) and whilst in town getting a birthday card and present for my sister we took a detour to the local library to get a couple of books out. I am so lucky that both my two are great readers and love to pick up a book, although their choice of books are so different. E prefers fiction, her current favourite read is the Harry Potter Series, which so far she has read 4 times! W though has a preference for non fiction, especially books on football (soccer, if you are reading this in the US) either that or encyclopedias!!!!!!!!

W chose a book from the Foul Football series and E chose two, one of which was called “Girls are Best”, she loved the title and the blurb at the back mentioned girl gladiators and she was hooked.

Book Week though was celebrated last week at their school, with lots of activities all week and it culminated with Friday being Book Character Dress up day.  W decided that he would dress up as William from the Just William series, he even cheekily asked his teacher if he could behave like him! She retorted quite quickly apparently with “only if you like warnings and detentions!!!”. E went as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz which she loved, especially as it gave her the chance to wear her shiny red shoes.

♡ Live ♡ Laugh ♡ Love ♡

I thought I should write a quick post about my tag line Live, Laugh, Love

It basically means that to get the most out of life, follow three little words:  Live, Laugh, Love.  I have been unable to find the original author but that is, in any event, unimportant.  It seems to me that there is some good advice in these words, I know that for us as a family it makes a huge different and makes us stronger as a unit.

LIVE life, LAUGH lots, LOVE forever

LIVE with abandon, LAUGH loudly, LOVE with passion

LIVE every moment, LAUGH every day, LOVE beyond words

LIVE life to the fullest, LAUGH as hard as you can, LOVE as long as you live

LIVE in joy, LAUGH with abandon, LOVE with your whole heart

LIVE well, LAUGH often, LOVE much

LIVE your life to the fullest, LAUGH at all the things that do not matter, LOVE with all you have and more

LIVE like there is no tomorrow, LAUGH like you did when you were little, LOVE like you have never been hurt

Laughter is the best medicine in the world
